Eat Your Way to a Healthy Vagina

Food effects your health! That’s hardly any news, but the principle also applies to the vagina. Check which foods can relieve and prevent vaginal bothers. 

Food that works against yeast infections
Yogurt: Yeast infections are a common nuisance caused by the candida fungus. If you get them often, try to eat more yogurt. Lactic acid bacteria helps to keep the pH-balance in the vagina. Look for yogurt the contains active cultures. Other sources of active cultures are kimchi, kefir, sauerkraut, pickles and kombucha tea.
Garlic: Strengthens the immune system so this can have a preventative effect.
Cinnamon: Cinnamon is a natural fungicide. You can drink apple and cinnamon tea, too.
Cranberry juice: The most famous preventive agent against fungal mucus is cranberry. Drink cranberry juice when you know that the symptoms are on the way. It should be preferably unsweetened.

Food the work against UTIs
Fluids: Preventive measures are to drink a lot of liquid in the form of water or acidic fluids like orange juice and cranberry juice (they should be unsweetened).
Blueberries: Can also prevent infections.
Pineapple: Can also prevent infections, which contains an antibacterial enzyme.

Food that works against vaginal dryness
Soy: Soy contains a form of estrogen that can help get moisture production in the vagina. The easiest way is to buy soy milk and use it in the coffee or in the müsli.
