We recommend you wait at least 2 days after your period ends to complete your home HPV test. This is because blood from your period can interfere with the lab’s ability to detect HPV on your sample.
Please keep in mind that other things that may interfere with the test are substances such as topical medications including antibiotics, vaginal creams, lubes or douches, or an excessive amount of foreign matter in the specimen (e.g., fecal matter, blood, food debris, etc.).
