Where Can I Get PrEP Medication?

You can get your PrEP medication online at Nurx™ or a healthcare clinic. PrEP is only available by prescription and is sold under the brand names Truvada and Descovy. PrEP is designed to lower your risk of getting HIV by over 99%.

Getting PrEP Online

If you are at high risk for contracting HIV and wish to order your prescription discreetly online, you can contact us at Nurx to obtain a prescription. Your healthcare provider at Nurx will request some information about your health history.

If you decide to use PrEP, we’ll send you a discreet package that contains a testing kit. The kit will allow you to test for the HIV virus, kidney function, Hepatitis B, pregnancy (if applicable), and STIs including gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis.

Get PrEP for HIV Prevention At Home

Nurx offers PrEP for HIV prevention for as little as $0 with insurance for medication.

You can take the test at home and mail it back where our partner lab will process your samples. If the results are negative, your Nurx healthcare provider will write a prescription and send out your medication. Once you begin a PrEP regimen, it is important to continue to be tested every 3 months to ensure that you remain HIV negative.

Getting PrEP in Person

If you decide to obtain your PrEP prescription from your local pharmacy or healthcare clinic, you will need to meet with a healthcare provider for testing and to get a prescription. The healthcare provider will gather information about your health history and test you for HIV and other STIs, pregnancy, and kidney function. If you are HIV negative and your health history and tests show that PrEP is safe for you to take, the provider will issue a prescription. You will be required to follow up with your healthcare provider every three months for HIV testing to be issued a refill.
