I Tried Getting Birth Control Online and it was Empowering
I couldn’t get birth control since my parents didn’t want me to have it.
When I was in boarding school, I would easily get birth control without my parents knowing by using the school health center. But as soon as I transferred to a local high school, I had no way of getting the Pill.
I had two leftover packs from boarding school, and was rationing them because I don’t have a lot of money and my mom refused to pay for it.
It was so bad. I kept thinking, “this isn’t how this is supposed to work!”
Because of this, I would take a pregnancy test every week and would spend an unreal amount of money on Plan B.
Then, I found out about Nurx. At first, I wondered, ‘am I going to get like tic tacs in the mail? Is this a real qualified doctor talking to me?’
The first time I tried it, I was like, ‘Wow, I feel connected to someone who understands what I’m going through.’
Although it’s an app, it just feels so personal.
Using the app has been such a seamless experience and so helpful to me in a time of great need.
