Tri-Linyah^®

Tri-Linyah® is a combination birth control pill that uses progestin and estrogen to prevent pregnancy. Tri-Linyah® is triphasic contraception, which means the oral tablets contain varying doses of hormones throughout the month. It is essential to take Tri-Linyah® at the same time every day and in the correct order. Tri-Linyah® tablets are color-coded and stamped to identify their order throughout the cycle. Seven inert pills allow your period to take place and keep you in the habit of taking your pill every day.

Talk to your doctor if you have a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, or if you are overweight. Let your doctor know about any risks of blood clots or a history of blood clotting disorders. Women over the age of 35 who smoke are cautioned against using hormonal birth control.

Tell your doctor about all medications you are taking since over-the-counter medications and supplements can interfere with the effectiveness of Tri-Linyah®. Although allergic reactions are rare, seek medical attention if you experience allergy symptoms like shortness of breath, hives, rash, or swelling of the neck and throat. Tri-Linyah® may interfere with medications for the treatment of HIV.

When used correctly, Tri-Linyah® is a safe and effective method of contraception. It is important not to miss any doses and to take the medication at the same time every day. Missed or late doses can compromise your protection. If you have missed a dose, or have been late taking your medication, consider backup birth control until your next cycle. Tri-Linyah® does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases and infections.

As with any type of hormonal birth control, Tri-Estarylla® may have side effects. These could include vomiting, bloating, nausea, bloating, breast tenderness, and fluid retention.

There are also some more severe documented symptoms. These, while unlikely, may include lumps in the breasts, mood changes, unusual changes in vaginal bleeding, blood clots, or severe abdominal pain. Seek immediate medical help if you experience any of the following: sudden dizziness, confusion, swelling/pain/warmth in the calf, sudden shortness of breath, jaw/chest/left arm pain, weakness on one side of the body, vision problems, or unusual headaches. However, it's important to remember that even though these side effects sound scary, they are rare.

Get immediate medical help if you experience symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, such as trouble breathing, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness.

In general, yes. However, you should consult your doctor or our team of experts and let them know about all other medications or products that you are taking. Drugs that could interact with Tri-Estarylla® include drugs used to treat chronic hepatitis C, as well as aromatase inhibitors, tamoxifen, tranexamic acid, tizanidine, or ospemifene. Additionally, drugs like other hormone-based meds could cause Tri-Estarylla® to be less effective.

Any weight gain you experience when starting this medication is likely due to fluid retention, and should decrease after your body adjusts. If you experience significant weight gain or loss after starting a new contraceptive, it's important to let your healthcare provider know.

Your Nurx medical provider will partner with you to find the best care for your symptoms and medical concerns. As medically appropriate, a Nurx provider may prescribe birth control to help manage symptoms associated with PMS (Premenstrual syndrome) and/or PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder), or to help with cycle control (delayed period). In some cases, birth control may also be used to help manage symptoms of endometriosis and/or PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome), to assist with improving acne. While the use of birth control is considered “off-label” for these listed purposes, a licensed Nurx clinician may prescribe birth control if they deem doing so medically appropriate.

Consultation
Anyone who requests a birth control prescription will be charged a $28 consultation fee. Please note that at this time, we do not submit claims to insurance for the medical consult fee.

Medication
For those with health insurance, your prescription will be free in most cases if it is covered by your health insurance, and we accept your plan. Insurance companies set the “copay” for prescriptions and depending on your plan and the prescription, this will usually be $0. Please connect with your insurance company if you would like to learn more about your copay. If you do have a copay, Nurx will authorize a $30 hold at checkout. If your copay is over $30, you will receive a notification to approve the updated amount.

Support Fee
Nurx will charge a flat $3 support fee each month one or more of your orders are processed. This fee covers your unlimited, on-demand access to our customer care team as well as certain processing fees. This fee will only be charged once in any month, even if you have multiple orders processed that month. This fee applies whether the order is filled through Nurx or at your local pharmacy. If your order is filled via Nurx, the support fee is billed at the time of fulfillment. If your prescription is sent to a local pharmacy, a support fee will be applied at that time. In the future, the support fee will be applied on a cadence that matches your medication refill cadence.

Nurx does not accept any federal or state government insurance plans, such as Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, or any of their affiliated managed care plans, nor can Nurx service such patients.
