Acne Treatment Regimens

Mild acne regimen
For mild acne patients often receive a topical antibiotic gel or a tretinoin cream (or in some cases, both). These prescription treatments prevent or treat breakouts.
*Depending on the prescribed medication, topical antibiotics or retinoids cost as low as $40-$90 per shipment ($20-$30 per month). If you have insurance we will bill it directly and your copay will depend on your plan.
Hormonal acne regimen
Acne that’s mostly driven by menstrual hormonal shifts may be treated with combination birth control pills to regulate hormones and/or spironolactone (to block androgen hormones), along with a retinoid cream.
*Depending on the prescribed medication, a combination of topical retinoids and birth control can cost as low as $105-$135 per shipment ($45 per month). If you have insurance we will bill it directly and your copay will likely be $0 for the birth control. The copay for the topical medication will depend on your plan.
Moderate acne regimen
To get moderate acne under control we often prescribe an oral antibiotic to stop bacteria and inflammation from the inside out, and a topical retinoid to prevent clogged pores by accelerating skin cell turnover.
*In this plan medications cost as low as $130 for the first shipment and $40 per month for the next two shipments, since topical medications are shipped as a 3 month supply and oral antibiotics are shipped as a 1 month supply.
