Nurx Custom GLP-1 Injection Formula: Semaglutide (5mg or 7.5mg) and Glycine (5mg)

Semaglutide (5mg or 7.5mg)

  • Semaglutide is a prescription GLP-1 receptor agonist, also known as an incretin, which acts like a natural hormone produced in your body. This hormone plays a crucial role in regulating appetite, blood sugar, and other metabolic functions. By mimicking its effects, semaglutide helps to reduce appetite and food cravings, improve eating control, and potentially lower preference for fatty foods.

  • Glycine USP (5mg)
  • Sodium Phosphate Dibasic
  • Sodium Chloride
  • Benzyl Alcohol
  • Sterile Water for Injection
  • Diluted Hydrochloric Acid 
  • Sodium Hydroxide 

How to take this medication

  • This medication is given as an injection (or shot) under the skin once a week, with or without food. You will receive a vial containing the medication and syringes in your shipment. You can find more details about administering your injection here. You should take this medication exactly as prescribed. Check your prescription message for details on your specific dosing.
  • If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is less than 48 hours until your next dose is due, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the regular time. Do NOT take 2 doses within 48 hours of each other.  

Do not use this medication if

  • You or your family have been diagnosed with a condition called medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN2). 
  • You are currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the next 2-3 months. 
  • You have had an allergic reaction to semaglutide or another ingredient in this preparation.
  • You are currently taking another GLP-1 medication like Wegovy®, Ozempic®, Mounjaro®, Zepbound®, Victoza®, Saxenda® or Rybelsus®. 

Speak to your medical provider before starting semaglutide if you have:

  • A history of pancreatitis
  • Active gallbladder disease
  • Severe stomach problems like gastroparesis 
  • Current or recent history of suicidal thoughts 

Stop using compounded semaglutide and notify your clinician if you experience any of the following

  • Allergic Reactions: Rash, hives, itching, swelling, or trouble breathing.
  • Kidney Problems: Changes in urine, blood in urine, or significant weight gain.
  • Gallbladder Problems: Pain in the upper belly or shoulder, changes in stool, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, fever with chills.
  • Low Blood Sugar: Dizziness, headache, sleepiness, shaking, fast heartbeat, confusion, hunger, or sweating.
  • Pancreatitis: Severe stomach or back pain, severe nausea, or vomiting.
  • Vision Changes: If you have type 2 diabetes & notice vision changes, tell your diabetes provider &/or eye doctor right away.
  • Suicidal Thoughts: Pay attention to mood changes, and call your clinician if you notice new or worsening mental health changes.

Side effects may include: 

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Stomach pain
  • Indigestion
  • Headache
  • Feeling dizzy, tired, or weak
  • Bloating
  • Burping
  • Gas
  • Heartburn
  • Runny nose

 

Storage guidance: Put your medicine in the fridge as soon as it arrives. Keep it in the original bottle. Store it in the fridge at 36º–46º F (2º–8º C). Throw away any unused medicine 28 days after you first open the vial or when it expires, whichever comes first.
