Unfortunately, it is very common for women starting a new birth control to initially get more acne. Though your acne will typically clear by 6 weeks or less, it can sometimes take up to 3 months for your system to get used to the new hormonal changes and your skin to clear again. The good news is that once you get through this period of break outs, acne often doesn’t come back. If it has been over 3 months and you’re still breaking out, please contact us.
