What causes anxiety?

Everyone gets anxious sometimes. It’s a natural response to stress and anxiety that can be healthy in small doses, such as when you’re taking an exam or before a big meeting. However, anxiety becomes a disorder when it interferes with normal functioning and becomes chronic. People who suffer from anxiety disorders spend excessive time worrying about everyday things like money, health and family relationships, and often experience physical symptoms like nausea, trembling and heart palpitations.
