Common questions§

  • How long do I need to take Bupropion HCL SR and Naltrexone HCL before I see weight loss?

It’s possible to see weight loss in the first month of treatment. However, because everyone responds differently to medication, it may take some time to find the dose that works best for you. Most people lose weight with continued treatment after a few months. We generally recommend aiming for 1-2 pound weight loss per week. Your healthcare provider will provide personalized guidance based on your individual response. Consistency is key to results! Taking the medication, eating a healthy diet, and incorporating physical activity into your lifestyle will make a big difference.

  • How can I make Bupropion HCL SR and Naltrexone HCL work best for me?

To get the best results with these medications, you need to consistently take the medication, eat a healthy diet, and engage in physical activity. It’s also important to have regular check-ins with your healthcare provider to track your progress and adjust your treatment if needed.

  • What precautions should I take when using Bupropion HCL SR and Naltrexone HCL?

It's crucial to have open and honest communication with your healthcare provider before taking this medication, especially if you have certain health conditions or if you are taking other medications. Be sure to talk to your healthcare provider before starting this medications if you have depression, other mental illness, diabetes, or are 65 years or older.

Do not take this medication if there is a chance you will take opioid pain medication. This medication may increase your blood pressure or cause hypertension. Do not start this medication if you have been diagnosed with coronary artery disease.

  • Why do you prescribe a combination of multiple oral medications?

Each medication targets different causes of weight gain. Most patients start with Bupropion HCL SR and Naltrexone HCL because they are more effective when used together than they are on their own. This combination lays the foundation, allowing your provider to add other treatments as needed to optimize your results.
