Necon 0.5/35 is a combination-type hormone birth control that uses progestin and estrogen to prevent pregnancy by stopping the release of an egg. It also thickens the vaginal fluids which make it harder for fertilization to occur. Necon 0.5/35 is also sometimes prescribed to treat acne and to reduce the occurrence of ovarian cysts.
Necon 0.5/35 is not a good choice for smokers over the age of 35. However, a Nurx™ healthcare professional can help you find a more suitable option.
