What causes women’s hair loss?

There are many potential causes of hair loss in women, including aging, hormonal changes (e.g. menopause), genetics, underlying medical conditions, medications, childbirth, hair care practices, and physical or emotional stress. At Nurx, we provide treatment for the most common form of hair loss in women, which is androgenetic alopecia (female pattern hair loss).  This condition affects about one-third of susceptible women, which includes 30 million women in the United States.   It is caused by genetics, aging, and menopause.
